DR. MAZZUCA

Douglas Mazzuca, DO

Dr. Douglas E. Mazzuca is a board certified ophthalmologist who has been in private practice for over 22 years.  He obtained a B.S. from Villanova University and went onto Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) receiving his medical degree (D.O). Upon graduating he was given the Wilbur P. Lutz award for proficiency in physical diagnosis.

Residency training was also at PCOM where he served as chief resident. Much of his didactic training took place at Will’s Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. The last year of his residency was served at the Medical Center of Delaware in Wilmington.

He was the first ophthalmologist to perform refractive surgery (RK, LASIK, Epi-LASIK), small incision cataract surgery and implant multi-focal lenses in Salem County. He is a fellow of The American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of The New Jersey and Delaware Academies of Ophthalmology. Dr. Mazzuca is on staff at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County and A.I. DuPont Institute in Wilmington, DE. He is also on staff at The Surgery Center of Salem County and Will’s Eye Surgery Center in Wilmington, DE.

Dr. Mazzuca is married, has five children and lives in Hockessin, DE.
